Defining intensity–duration–frequency curves at short durations: a methodological framework

In the field of sub-hourly durations, and especially in urban hydrology, selecting most appropriate form intensity–duration–frequency (IDF) curve becomes a relevant question. this study, two different formulations IDF curves – that are characterized by curvature intervals power-law formulation for super-hourly proposed order to maximize overall information contribution domains. The compared with well-known formulations, respectively (from power-law) formulation, calibrated only using data referring durations. Findings indicated allow account lengths canonical series eventually behaviour/trend data, thus providing best reliability indicator, at least investigated return period.
